Artificial Limb & Rehabilitation Centre
Introduction
Our goal is to provide high-quality Prosthetics, Orthotics and Rehabilitation care to persons with physical disabilities and neuromusculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) has established the Artificial Limb & Rehabilitation Centre (ALRC) to provide comprehensive services including Prosthetics and Orthotics, Assistive Technology, Physiotherapy and Psychological consultancy. Since 2015, ALRC has been serving persons with disabilities through rehabilitation services, mobility aids, guidance, counseling, outreach programs and awareness activities. The centre also supports training in Prosthetics and Orthotics for undergraduate and postgraduate students, with the aim of becoming a Centre of Excellence in disability rehabilitation.
Aim and Objectives :
- To provide Prosthetics, Orthotics and Rehabilitation care to the patients of university and to that of general public who need such services, with most suitable Prosthetics, Orthotics and other rehabilitative services.
- To initiate clinical services programs to attract new patient referrals by establishing relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, out patient clinics and insurance companies not only in Lucknow but in various parts of Uttar Pradesh and also from other states of India.
- To utilize professional education programs for practitioners emphasizing new developments in the increasingly sophisticated field of O and P clinical therapy.
- To create a revenue generating rehabilitation facility at the Hospital.
- To create networking and liaison with national and international institutes to undertake research and development activities.
- To run Bachelor's and UG, PG, and Ph. D programs in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
